Kotečnik is a 722m-high peak in the Posavje Hills. The eastern part of the ridge is overgrown with trees and the western part offers a fantastic view on the Posavje Hills, especially Šmohor and Gozdnik.
Kotečnik is well-known among climbers in Europe as the largest climbing area in Slovenia with more than 300 climbing courses of all grades ranging from 4b to 8c. The climbing area is suitable for all seasons, for beginners as well as for the most advanced climbers. Mountain hikers also like to visit. An interesting fact: there are two logbooks on the top.
